UXO Quality Control
|
Developing and implementing an effective Quality Control system is a key aspect of a successful UXO DGM (Digital Geophysical Mapping) program. Documented QC measures demonstrate the validity of the data and provide the client with an added measure of confidence in the defense of all remediation procedures. NAEVA’s involvement as one of the primary authors of CEHNC’s (Corps of Engineers - Huntsville Center) Geophysical Investigations for “Buried Munitions Operational Procedures and Quality Control Manual” afforded us an opportunity to tailor the fundamental procedures of our QC program to fit the demands of the Huntsville DIDs (Data Item Descriptions). |
Analysis tools for USACE QC tests are built into Geosoft Oasis montaj |

The document addresses quality control processes to be used in data acquisition, navigation, data processing and transfer, anomaly reacquisition and quality control of products delivered to the client. NAEVA has continued to be involved in the review and use of Geosoft’s UX-Process module that is being developed with the Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). This software provides several automated methods of verifying the results of common instrument checks and data quality objectives. We participate in workshops, seminars and presentations put on by other groups that are involved in implementing Quality Control and Quality Assurance Plans such as the Navy, EPA, ITRC, State regulatory groups, and private industry. |
